A Message From Tavis Smiley

"The best of the Black prophetic tradition in America is speaking truth to power."

Too often Black voices in the media are subjected to prejudice based accusations, but never as much as now with a predominately African-American president in office. Please watch as TV host, author, and political commentator Tavis Smiley speaks truth into the difference between criticizing and holding someone accountable.

A Word From the People's President

We're finally head first into the 2011-2012 school year at St. John's University! Welcome back to those who were here last year, thanks for joining us to the freshmen and transfer students.

As you begin to search for your niche within this community, keep in mind that the Pan-African Students' Coalition will always be an open home away from home. Through dozens of programs and staple events we provide activities and discussions that are beneficial to enhancing the social and academic aspects of your college career and beyond.
With 6 umbrella organizations (Haitian Students' Association, Latino American Student's Organization, Carribbean Students' Association, African Students' Association, and Guyanese Students' Association) the students of this diverse institution are offered multiple outlets to celebrate their own culture while learning about others. Whether your Black, White, Yellow, or Red HARAYA has a place for you.

If you are seeking a family with which you can share your appreciation for the Pan-African culture or just a constructive environment to speak your mind, HARAYA is here to help.
I look forward to working with anyone who wants to join our family or collaborate with our organization. This is our year to educate, enlighten, and evolve. Let the cultivation begin.

Humbly Yours,

Liane K. Robinson
